History of Our Operations
SODANGI STEVEDORING COMPANY
Sodangi Stevedoring Company commenced her operations at the Cocoa Terminal Ijora Lagos in 1956 and the major area of Operations was basically on the exportation of cocoa to the western world. We played a major role in this sector as cocoa was a major source of income to the Nigerian economy.
In 1963 Sodangi Stevedoring Company moved into Apapa Wharf, where the operations was stepped up into shore handling of general cargos such as Groundnut, Timber Planks, Cotton, Palm kernels etc,. In 1983 the company’s trading name was changed to BAMNAS NIGERIA LIMITED and was allocated Berth 9, 10 & 12 at Apapa Wharf. In 1983, the operations were extended to Container Terminal Apapa and Tincan Island with additional Berth 4, 5 & 6 operations.
Same year its operation where then stepped up with additional Berth allocations in the following terminals – Apapa Wharf berth 19, 19A, 20, container terminal berth 17, 18 and Tincan Island Berth 1,2, 3, Roro Port terminal & Midstream Operations, the entire Sapele port and Agbami Crude Oil Terminal Deep Offshore Port-Harcourt.
